EVERYDAY DRAWING – DIGITAL
The year 2020 was the most difficult globally.
People faced hardships, and we had to alter our lifestyles, values, and thought processes.
I also could not visit my own working studio. I could not leave my place for a few months. I could not engage in any work that used charcoals, pastels, and big paintings. Thus, I began using the iPad.
I often use computers to design. However, this was the first time I drew bears digitally.
EVERYDAY DRAWING (2011 ~) series really worked digitally, opening me up to a new world. I decided to use this project as my new exercise.
Again, creatures from this series extend to other projects.
2020年は世界中の誰にとっても厳しい年となりました。
皆難しい状況と対峙し、そのライフスタイルや常識、価値観、考え方の変化を余儀なくされました。私も、数ヶ月間スタジオに行くことができなくなり、長い間家で過ごすことになりました。
その間、木炭、パステルなどを使う作品、そして大きなペイントの作品を作れなくなったため、新たな画材として採用したのがiPadです。
コンピューターでデザインする作業はいつものことなのですが、今まで一度も、デジタルなクマを描いたことがなかったのです。
実際、今までパステルで行っていたEVERYDAY DRAWINGシリーズは、デジタルツールと非常に相性がよく、新しい表現方法を発見することができました。
そこで、このデジタルシリーズをBearömixxのエクササイズとして取り入れることにしました。
これらは、他のEVERYDAYシリーズと同じように、他の作品へと生まれ変わる可能性を秘めています。
